This rare variety of turmeric is a vibrant blue when fresh and appears similar to black pepper when dried. It has as a stronger taste than its golden sister. The flavor is unique and may overpower other spices, but luckily only a little is needed at a time. It is highly aromatic and potent due to a high concentration of naturally-occurring essential oils.
*We are just starting to work with black turmeric, and we don’t have information about its curcumin content. However, as you know, curcumin is only one of the active components of turmeric. The entire root has hundreds of such components, many of which haven’t been fully researched yet.
This looks and tastes like nothing you've had before. This turmeric variety is packed with great compounds and has been used in India since ancient times for medicinal purposes. Recent studies have pointed to some astounding health benefits of this plant!
This rare variety of turmeric is highly-valued and is considered uncommon, even in India. It is only recently becoming known in the west. Use a pinch at a time. It is very potent!

This is the 'new kid on the [turmeric] block'-- so I'm still experimenting with it. Certainly not so pronounced in flavor as regular turmeric, so it's a little hard to tell if it has much culinary value (gets totally lost in the dish) or possibly some health benefits beyond the highly beneficial 'orange' turmeric root.
Remains to be seen... but I do like it!

Greetings, Wow! The Black Turmeric is a real special "gift" of the earth to acquire! I tasted it straight out of the jar and Behold! Out of this world! It has a beautiful strong flavor and "I" could taste it medicinal properties. I could sense the land where it was grown. Very magical to me...! I'm making Turmeric tea for now as I discover what foods/dishes I will use with the Black Turmeric. My I am beginning to feel its anti-inflammatory benefits in my back and my knees, also a more relaxing sleep. I'm loving the Black Turmeric! Thank You Pure Indian Foods for offering this incredible product. Shanti Blessings.

This is by far the best turmeric powder I have used. A little bit goes a long way and it feels more potent than regular turmeric, perhaps wilder with more co-factors.
