Henna must be applied first and indigo applied within 72 hours of completing henna application.
Step 1: Apply Henna
Begin with clean, dry hair. Gradually add warm or hot water, 1-2 tsp of apple cider vinegar, lemon juice or green tea to desired amount of henna powder to form a thick, smooth paste. Cover and let this sit for 2-3 hours. The longer it sits, the darker the color. Add a little more water if it seems too thick. Section hair; apply with gloves working from the roots to the ends. Cover hair for 3-4 hours. Rinse with cool water until water runs clear.
Step 2: Apply Indigo
Gradually add warm or hot water to desired amount of indigo powder along with 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp cornstarch to make a thick, smooth paste. Cover and let it sit for 20 minutes. Add a little more water if it seems too thick. Section hair; apply with gloves working from the roots to the ends. Cover hair several hours to overnight. Rinse with cool water until water runs clear. Don’t shampoo for 2-3 days as the color can take a couple of days to fully settle.

Works great
Used it "off brand" to dye my hair a purplish blue (I don't have gray hair and wasn't combining it with henna to achieve a dark brown or black). Used it over a lighter blue-green dye job and the results are great. Love that it was all natural and plant-based.
