When do you ship orders? / What is your handling time?

Shipping and Transit Time Infographic

Pure Indian Foods orders are processed, shipped, and delivered on business days: Monday-Thursdays (excluding weekends and major holidays).

Please allow 2-4 business days for processing depending on product availability and order volume. For example: orders placed Thursday after 12pm, may not ship until Wednesday morning.

How handling time is calculated: The first business day will be calculated according to how we process and ship orders according to the following schedule (all times are Eastern Standard Time):

- Orders placed by 11:59 AM EST - First business day will be the next business day.

- Orders placed after 12:00 PM EST - First business day will be in 2 business days.

- Orders placed between 6:00 PM EST Friday and 7:00 AM Monday - Tuesday will be the first business day

How long will shipping take?

USA: On average, 5-10 business days. However, delays may be possible through the holiday season.

Canada: On average, 6-10 business days, but sometimes longer to get through customs.

We generate a tracking number when we go to pack your order. This does NOT mean it is shipped yet. This means that we have printed your label and are preparing it to be shipped to you. Please use your link to track your package in the future.

Do You Have Free Shipping?

We do not offer free shipping. However, we offer two discount shipping rates. You will be given the applicable options at checkout.

Orders over $125 qualify for a flat rate of $9.99.* This applies to the Continental USA outside of Northeast region. This does not include Alaska or Hawaii.

Orders over $75 qualify for a flat rate of $5.99.* This applies ONLY to the Northeastern part of the United States, including CT, DE, DC, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA.

* Orders that contain more than 50% by weight of 24 Mantra grain/lentil/flour products may not qualify for discounted shipping.

International Orders:

International orders outside the USA may attract additional customs, taxes and duties upon entry to your country; this is the responsibility of the customer. If the package is refused by your country's customs department and it is sent back to us, the shipping cost will be non-refundable. Please be aware, there may be delays.

Shipping to Canada:

DUTIES & TAXES

International orders outside the USA may attract additional customs, taxes and duties upon entry to your country; this is the responsibility of the customer. Canada taxes ghee as "dairy" ~ 200%. We really wish this was different, as we would love to be able to ship more ghee into Canada. Unfortunately, it is very expensive. Non-dairy items have lower duties & taxes.

IF YOUR PACKAGE IS RETURNED

Canada will not release your package without paying duties & taxes. Other times, they may return the package for other reasons. If the package is refused by your country's customs department and it is sent back to us, the shipping cost will be non-refundable.

DELIVERY TIME

We do not guarantee a time table for delivery. Usually, delivery is within a week or two since we are located in New Jersey, pretty close to Canada. However, sometimes there are unexpected delays.

SHIPPING RATES
We USPS Priority International to ship packages. We do not control the rates. At checkout, you can put in your address, and you will see the USPS live rate. We understand shipping is expensive, but, again, we do not control the rates. We wish it was cheaper too! We do have a suggestion for those customers who are close to the border or plan to cross the border. Many of our Canadian customers have us ship parcels to a UPS store and have them hold the package for pick-up. Generally UPS will hold a package for 5 days before returning to sender. However, YOU MUST CONTACT THE SPECIFIC STORE if you are planning to do this and speak with some one to let them know what date you plan to pick it up. UPS Stores are franchises so each store might have a slightly different policy and might be more flexible if you ask them to hold it for longer than 5 days. This has been a good option for a lot of our Canadian customers in the past.

How is shipping cost calculated?

Our carriers have implemented increased rates due to high fuel costs.

Shipping charges are based on both weight and distance. All orders ship from New Jersey, USA. We do not profit on shipping. We don’t even cover our shipping and packaging costs in most cases. We package each box carefully using recycled and biodegradable packaging materials (whenever possible) to prevent breakage for these handcrafted products. Unlike many other online retailers, we cannot offer free shipping at lower thresholds. Many such retailers cover the shipping cost by charging you more for the products. We provide you the products at the best possible rate and provide you with reasonable shipping options which are calculated for your review during checkout process.

My package didn't arrive. What do I do?

When we ship a package, we send an email with tracking information. When the package is delivered, we send another email notifying the customer about it. We have no way of knowing that the customer didn’t receive the package unless the customer contacts us. Customer has 14 days to notify us if the package wasn’t received, and we then contact the shipping carrier about it.

My package is delayed. What do I do?

Please plan for 10 business days from the date of your order for your package to be delivered. While we always feel bad when your package is delayed, circumstances with carriers that are beyond our control can cause delays. During the holiday season, delays are normal and to be expected.

Please keep in mind that we are NOT USPS or UPS. We pass your package onto the carrier of your choice, and once it leaves our warehouse we cannot control the delivery time. Please check your tracking number and contact the carrier directly for a faster response to check the location of your package before contacting us.

My package arrived damaged. What do I do?

If your package is damaged in transit, we will reship it at no cost to you using the same shipping method.

My order was returned to you. Now what?

If your package is returned to us by the carrier due to damage, we will reship it at no additional cost to you. If your shipped package returns back to us due to an incorrect shipping address or other issues regarding your delivery location, then you have two options:

  • OPTION 1: Accept a refund, minus the original shipping cost.
  • OPTION 2: Pay the shipping cost again to reship the package to a corrected address.

"This package was packed brilliantly, it was obvious care and thought and planning had gone into the packing. Some one had studied how things could get damaged or shifted around in transit and had worked out solutions. Thank you."
