Also known as red beans, kidney beans get their name from their color and shape, which closely resembles a kidney. Although popular around the world, you’ll find plenty of these high fiber nutritious beans in the cuisine of northern India and Cajun dishes popular in New Orleans and South Louisiana.
- Add to favorite chili recipe, or any soup or stew.
- Sprinkle over a green salad, or make a 3-bean salad with kidney, pinto, and white beans. Add lots of chopped, colorful veggies and a favorite salad dressing.
- Make Louisiana-style Red Beans and Rice, or simmer until tender with favorite spices, herbs and seasonings such as garlic, onion, ginger, turmeric or curry.
